Construction - The first real sign of Spring has arrived! We have been informed by the road construction company that East Ave. will be under construction starting immediately and that it will be converted to one-way from Sunset to Roberta as early as March 23rd for North bound traffic only. Roberta Ave. will be closed to West bound traffic at or near Tennyson and will not be allowed to travel down the hill toward East. Please begin informing staff, students and parents immediately of the need for route changes. Parents will not be permitted to park on East as it will be single lane, north bound only traffic from Sunset to Roberta, and totally closed from Roberta Avenue northward. Walkers may cross East at Sunset or Roberta. I will be notifying the bus company to revise pick-up and drop-off locations that will go into effect on March 23. Construction will be underway through early September if the project stays on schedule.

Mission StatementLearning, Growing, Succeeding, Every person, Every day!
Home of the BlackshirtsSouth High School is Waukesha’s oldest high school, long known for its outstanding educational programming. When South High School opened its doors December 2, 1957, it was known as Waukesha High School’s South Campus. The 1,460 students are served by 131 well-qualified staff members whose talents and abilities provide a good balance of structured discipline and adventurous learning experiences. The comprehensive curriculum provides opportunities for all students to succeed. Offered are 10 cooperative/internship education programs and nearly 200 course selections with advanced courses in art, business, foreign language, family and consumer economics, industrial education, language arts, mathematics, music, science, social studies, and information technologies. A bilingual program serves nearly 275 students. Opportunities for school involvement are great with 22 sports and 24 extracurricular groups offered to South students. Over 60 percent of South’s graduates go on to a four-year college and 20 percent go on to a two-year college. About 15 percent attend trade or proprietary schools and the remaining enlist in military service or directly enter the work world.
