Tornado Awareness Week
The week of April 13th is Tornado Awareness Week.
Here are some tornado facts:
Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes annually.
A tornado watch means a tornado is possible in your area.
A tornado warning means a tornado has been sighted and may be headed your way.
75% of all Wisconsin tornado's occur between the times of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
If you are riding in a car and you see a tornado coming at you, always remember to get out of the car and lie down in a low place. Don't try to outdrive a tornado.

Prom!
Juniors and Seniors! Prom is being held on April 25th! Tickets are on sale in the activities office until Wednesday, April 22nd. $65 for a single ticket and $130 for a couple's ticket. Permission Slips and Guest Passes must be turned in in order to purchase a ticket. Gentlemen, if you are looking for a screaming good deal for your Tux, see Joshua Bregger for a Tux coupon!

Student Dress Code
The following dress is not allowed as it may disrupt the educational setting:
No part of any undergarment is to be visible while standing or sitting.
No bare midriffs.
No strapless tops, off the shoulder tops, visible bra straps, or low cut tops.
All students shirts should have sleeves, no muscle underwear shirts.
No short shorts or short skirts such as those shorter than the fingertips of the student when arms are at the side.
No visible boxer shorts with loose, low pants.
No hats, bandanas, scarves, or other headwear may be worn during the school day.
No bandanas are allowed.
Students are expected to remove headwear upon entering the building and during the school day.

Scholar Athlete and Three-Sport Athlete
Scholar Athlete and Three-Sport Athlete letters were sent out during Spring Break. If you have not received one and think you should have, please see Mrs. Miller immediately. The banquet is on Wednesday, April 29th.

Day of Silence
At the university of Virginia in 1996 students held the first Day of Silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT name calling, bullying, and harassment. The goal was to make school safer for all students regardless of sexual orientation and gender expression and this year, on april 17th, we will continue the tradition. Please purchase a button at lunch to partake in the day of silence and/or show your support by just wearing the button Friday.

Congratulations! Waukesha CORE2062
Congratulations to the Waukesha CORE 2062 Robotics team for its second consecutive win last week at the Midwest regional competition after taking first place at the Wisconsin regional in March. The CORE students were also recognized with an industrial safety award and an innovation in control award. Please congratulate them and wish them luck at the International championship in St. Louis on April 22-25. ASFAB test offered
Any 10th, 11th or 12th grade student interested in taking the ASFAB on Wednesday, April 22nd at 3:15 please sign up with Mrs. Blackburn in the guidance office by April 20th. The test will take about two and a half hours so plan accordingly.

Lunch Reminder
Please remember that students are not allowed to order food to have delivered to the school for their lunch period or any time during the school day.

Student Parking
Parking permits for second semester and daily parking permits can be purchased in the main office with Mrs. Furman. Please remember that student parking is only permitted in the student lot near Pick and Save and the cafeteria, not near the pool or softball field. Students who do not park in a designated parking area and do not have a valid parking permit will be ticketed by the Waukesha Police Department. You may also find street parking available, please be aware of parking restrictions.

UW Waukesha Pre-College Program
UW-Waukesha will be offering a Pre-College program on Wednesdays afterschool. The Pre-College program provides information on college and careers. Explore and prepare for your next step after high school, learn about College Admissions, Scholarships, Majors and Career Paths, and build your Leadership Skills. The program offers Workshops, fun activities and field trips. There is no cost for your participation. For more information and an application stop in the Library afterschool today and meet the staff. James Boling and Nicolette Fugarino will be looking forward to meeting you all.
